Exciting times ahead with our new space opening, the space is coming along brilliantly with an expected hand over of January 22nd so fingers crossed we will be all go and able to 'open for business' on day one of 2018. As much as it’s ‘not about the walls’ it will be fabulous to finally have a ‘home’ (Whare waihanga) where our budding Scientists, Engineers, Designers, Coders, Artists and Makers can follow their passions, ignite ideas and then take their projects back into the classroom to refine, reflect on and blog about. We have mini Makerspaces in our classrooms too but in this space I do things differently (picture books are the hook). If you are keen to see the space in action and to learn more let me know as we’ll be having an open day in Term 1 (with limited spaces). Feel free to contact me if you'd like me to secure you a spot, more info to follow.
I just love this image shared by Makerspaces.com and then retweeted all over the place...
I wonder what the kids will call me, today one said "I'm looking for the Apple Teacher"......and another said "Are you Mrs Maker?" ......funny.
